STOCKTON, Calif. – May 11, 2018 – St. Teresa Comprehensive Cancer Center has earned a three-year term of reaccreditation in radiation oncology from the American College of Radiology (ACR). The cancer treatment center is the only ACR accredited facility in Stockton.
The ACR seal of accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety. Experts in the field perform a peer-review evaluation and award the accreditation only to facilities meeting specific practice guidelines and technical standards developed by ACR.
Patient care and treatment, patient safety and quality assurance programs are among the criteria assessed. The findings are reported to the ACR Committee on Radiation Oncology Accreditation.
“We are honored that the ACR has recognized our dedication to patient care and awarded our center this reaccreditation,” said Dan Vongtama, M.D., Board Certified Radiation Oncologist and Medical Director at St. Teresa Comprehensive Cancer Center. “Our facility will continue to uphold the strict quality control standards that earned us the accreditation.”
The ACR is the nation’s oldest and most widely accepted radiation oncology accrediting body, with over 650 accredited sites and 29 years of experience. The ACR seal accreditation represents the highest level of quality and patient safety.
